Blocks

Blocks are the basic, simple structure units in Minecraft, which make up the game's world. They can be collected and placed anywhere in the world and used as helpful resources. See the entire range of blocks and their properties.

Event Blocks

Technical blocks have different functions during events. They use separate IDs to avoid block state combinations. Java Edition doesn't have them as items, but in Bedrock Edition they can be obtained with inventory editors or add-ons.

Education Edition Blocks

These blocks are exclusive to Minecraft Education and Bedrock Edition with education options enabled. Boards, posters, and slates can only be obtained in Bedrock Edition via inventory editors.

Biomes

Minecraft biomes are unique regions with distinct characteristics like geography, flora, and temperatures, forests and deserts.

Mods, Resource Packs and More

Minecraft mods add or change features in the game, from simple crafting recipes to complex new weapons and landscapes, as well as resource packs and entire worlds.

Skins

Minecraft skins are pixel images that wrap around your character, with two sizes: classic and slim. Steve has a blocky skin and four-pixel-wide arms, while Alex is thinner with three-pixel-wide arms. Choose the arm thickness when creating your own skin.

Characters

Recipes

Minecraft recipes are data-driven and use data packs or add-ons for crafting, smelting, and more. Cartography tables and brewing recipes in Bedrock Edition also use this system. Java Edition's cartography table and loom recipes cannot be controlled.

Minecraft now has 74 mobs that can be classified into 6 groups based on their characteristics: hostile, passive, tamable, neutral, bosses, and utility.
