Spruce Logs in Minecraft are an essential component of Spruce Trees with a feature a rich, dark brown hue. Where can you find Spruce Logs?

Spruce Trees typically grow in colder biomes of the game, such as Taiga, Extreme Hills, Amplified Taiga, Cold Taiga, and Mega Taiga. Although the Spruce texture may look similar to a darker version of oak, there are noticeable differences in the appearance of the trees. Thus, you can easily distinguish between the two. To obtain Spruce Wood, you can chop down Spruce Trees located in respective biomes but can also acquire it by growing Spruce Saplings.

Howling Spirits have a 15% chance of dropping Spruce Wood. Additionally, you can purchase Spruce Wood from the Lumber Merchant in the Village for 5 Coins per piece.

What can you do with a Spruce Log?

If you have some Spruce Logs at your disposal, you’ll be pleased to know that they are quite versatile. You can use them to craft a wide range of items, just like you would with Oak Logs and other types of Wood. This includes Planks and Bark, among others. Additionally, if you need some Charcoal, you can smelt Spruce Logs in a Furnace to obtain it. What’s more, if you use Spruce Logs as fuel, you’ll be able to smelt 1.5 items per block, which is a pretty good return.

Did you know?

In the colder regions of the northern hemisphere, you can find many different species of spruce trees. Unlike other trees, spruces don’t shed their leaves in winters, allowing them to survive the harsh weather.

The needles of spruce trees serve as a survival mechanism. They retain more water than regular leaves, making them more resistant to ice and snow. The needles also capture sunlight throughout the year, which is crucial in regions with limited sunlight. Additionally, they are tough enough to resist insects. However, their needles can cause discomfort, as they tend to stick to clothes, especially during Christmas, and can jab into your skin.

Did you know that spruce needles are a rich source of vitamin C? This makes them a natural remedy for scurvy, a disease caused by a lack of vitamin C. In places where fruits and vegetables are scarce, you can boil spruce needles into a tea and enjoy its health benefits.
