Cake with Black Candle

What is a Cake with Black Candle?

A Cake with Black Candle is a special decorative and interactive block in Minecraft, created by placing a Black Candle on top of a Cake. This combination allows players to light the candle for celebrations or atmospheric decoration. When the Cake is eaten, the candle remains behind, making it a fun party decoration or a unique gothic-themed birthday cake.

Like all Candle Cakes, the Black Candle can be lit with Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge, and the flame can be extinguished by right-clicking.

Where Can Cake with Black Candle Be Found?

A Cake with Black Candle does not generate naturally and must be crafted by players. To create one:

  1. Craft a Cake – Using 3 Wheat, 3 Buckets of Milk, 2 Sugar, and 1 Egg in a Crafting Table.
  2. Craft a Black Candle – Made from 1 String and 1 Black Dye (obtained from Squids or Wither Roses).
  3. Place the Cake down first – Then, right-click the Cake with the Black Candle to attach it.
  4. Light the Candle – Use Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge to create a burning effect.

Once placed, the Cake can still be eaten slice by slice, but when the Cake is fully consumed, the Candle remains as a separate block.

What Can Players Do with a Cake with Black Candle?

This cake variant is purely decorative but offers a few fun and practical uses:

  • Birthday and celebration builds, adding realism to party decorations.
  • Spooky or gothic-themed cakes, where the Black Candle adds a dark, mysterious vibe.
  • Custom-built bakeries or dining halls, making tables feel more immersive.
  • A light source (when lit), giving off a light level of 3, similar to an unlit Torch.

Since Candles can be dyed in 16 colors, players can create cakes with different colored themes for various occasions.
